Colombia Immersion Spanish School

I started a year long trip by taking 1 month of Spanish classes at Colombian Immersion School, and I am so happy I did. I came in knowing very little, and within a month a left having a great base of Spanish that I could then take and build on as I continue to travel. The teachers at the school are amazing! I also loved the small classes because it was very interactive and involved a lot of speaking in Spanish, which was huge for me to get over the hurtle of being scared to speak. All and all I highly recommend this school because the teachers, the classes and the people involved are all amazing!

I attended two weeks of classes at the Envigado campus and thoroughly enjoyed them. The staff and teachers are super friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is casual. Everyone is very supportive and wants to help all the students improve.Before arriving at the school I had been a bit worried about being a mature" student among young backpackers

Me encantó Colombia Immersion School. La escuela en Envigado es como una familia. Tener comunidad es muy importante para mejorar su español (y.. para disfrutar la experiencia!!), y Envigado es el lugar perfecto. Además, la instrucción fue muy buena y en tres semanas podía hablar más rápido y sentía más cómoda con mi español. También aprendí mucho sobre Colombia y Medellín afuera de la tourist bubble" con actividades como la salida de campo. Les extraño

I am finishing my first week at the school, and I already feel at home here. In five days, I feel so much more confident about my Spanish conversation, and I'm given a lot of opportunity to speak with locals and become immersed in the culture of Colombia. The classes are very good and focus on conversation - in high school I took Spanish classes and I was never able to speak it very well, but I could name all the capitals of the countries in South America. Instead of teaching (what I think is) superfluous information that is unnecessary to many conversations, Colombia Immersion wants students to be able to talk to people, so they teach conversation and encourage students to talk to native Spanish speakers.The school organizes many events that allow interactivity with Colombians (and other students), and on days where there is no organized activity, there is always someone to hang out with to go salsa dancing or explore the city.The schoolhouse is very clean and comfortable, and is a very chill atmosphere. I could not be happier with my choice to come to Colombia Immersion, the value is amazing and they offer SO much for the students.If you are on the fence about Colombia Immersion, just do it!! You will have so much fun and come out a better Spanish conversationalist.

I was a volunteer at Colombia Immersion Spanish School in April and May and I also took Spanish lessons with Andrea. I loved my Spanish classes-- I have a more advanced level but Andrea taught me new things, challenged me, and kept the classes super interesting. The community is also great-- the students and teachers all hang out during breaks and lunch, and there are optional cultural outings every night! I highly recommend this Spanish school to Spanish learners of all levels.

Increíble el lugar, el ambiente, las personas... Todo es fantástico

I took 2 weeks of full immersions at the Laureles location and absolutely loved it!!! If I had more time I would have definitely took many more weeks of classes with them. What made Colombia Immersion different from other Spanish language schools was the conversation based learning, the one-on-one coaching, as well as the community of people/events. Beyond learning grammar, the conversation based classes with small number of people, and the private coaching really helped me gain the confidence and experience to start speaking. I have taken lots of language classes before but because they were so grammar and exams focused, I've always had a hard time holding a conversations and retaining memory of the language, but my experience at Colombia Immersion was exactly opposite.In addition, Colombia Immersion is more than just a language school. There is such a wonderful, genuine, group of staff and community at the school between both the Laureles and Envigado locations that made me felt so welcomed. They hold daily Spanish based events outside of the classrooms, including weekly field-trips and language exchange nights. Additionally just by not being located in Poblado, and instead in the residential neighborhood of Laureles and Envigado, the students get a much better experience of Colombian culture.

Taking classes at Colombia Immersion was a fantastic experience! Not only are they a great school for learning Spanish, but since their goal is to immerse you in Colombian and paisa culture, you end up learning SO much about this beautiful city and country. The staff is incredibly welcoming, the teachers are knowledgeable and passionate, and the other students were loads of fun to spend time with. I stayed at the Envigado school, which is a very nice part of Medellin that is a relaxed part of the city where I felt right at home. I'd highly recommend to anyone considering to take classes here to do so.
