Restaurante Campeche

Nested in the eastern ranges of the Colombian Andes, and after an interesting drive to make sure I wasn’t going to get lost since I have practically become a foreigner in my own home country, I found the place. Not too shabby and with a discreet entrance, his owner and chef Cesar opened the restaurant doors and greeted my two daughters and I to an amazing lunch/dinner. He cooked every single dish, directly from the kitchen and garden to the table. To begin with a sourdough flatbread with mango chutney since he was tied up serving one of the tables. Opened a bottle of wine and “charladito” he started to tell me the story of his place and journey. Second dish was a pork pancetta over a sweet pea pure and it was only the beginning of a great afternoon. Third dish and my absolute favorite was the roasted red beets with garlic chips and goat cheese. The red beets were candied and slow cooked in the fire charcoal. The goat cheese came from a local store nearby his restaurant and the combination of flavors was absolutely perfect. Fourth, lamb chops with a mix of eggplant and peppers, curry and other spices. Fifth, Colombian style flank steak over a bed of rustic Colombian mash potatoes, garnished with caramelized onions and accompanied with an avocado salad. Sixth, and the final dish was dessert. A mix of baked cow milk and topped with “Arequipe” which is a better version of “Dulce de Leche” (just because it's Colombian), and garnished with mint which surprisingly goes amazing with Arequipe which of course it would, it just it never crossed my mind. Talked about politics unfiltered and without judgment, talked about Covid and the havoc it has brought to business and life but overall also the beauty in forcing us to look at the overlooked and make the best out of things. By the time we were done, I was shocked not only by the wonderful afternoon but the opportunity to have an exquisite meal with a mix of flavors and techniques not often found in the popular eateries, yet sophisticated places of Bogota and its surrounding areas. Cooking is an art and Campeche (from the land) and his creations brought one of the best shows without the show but rather the beauty and joy that a perfect dish, people and surroundings can bring to the soul.

Un domingo de salida a almorzar, llegamos a este restaurante, gracias a uno de esos amigos que tienen la sensibilidad de encontrar personas y lugares espectaculares. Atendido por César y su gente, con una calidez inigualable, le ponen la técnica más avanzada de cocion, adoban su comida con alma y corazón. Cada vez que podamos regresaremos a este restaurante para vivir su gastronomía y su entorno hermoso, inspira a la tranquilidad, La Paz y el disfrute.

Comida cultivada, hecha y servida con mucho amor. El sitio divino, la comida deliciosa, muy buena onda y quieren a las mascotas. Recomendadísimo.¡Gracias por alimentarnos!

Nos encantó, está súper recomendado! Los platos estaban deliciosos, con verduras de la huerta orgánica (que pueden visitar), y las carnes preparadas en horno de leña. También había opción de plato vegetariano y estaba buenísimo. Venden cerveza artesanal y café. El lugar es muy tranquilo, bastante privado y la atención hace que uno se sienta como en casa. El paisaje es verde, buen plan para alejarse del bullicio de Bogotá. Los precios están muy bien para la calidad de la comida. Sin duda vamos a volver.

Gran experiencia, César está súper atento a cumplir con todas las expectativas y lo logra! Explica muy bien la preparación y detalles de cada plato. La comida es de alta calidad y completamente natural, todo sale de su huerta. Volvería mil veces, super recomendado!

Un sitio imperdible a 1h y 30m de Bogotá. Verduras y hortalizas frescas de la huerta y un menú increíble para maridar con vinos de la casa. El chef y su staff son personas maravillosas. Gracias por todo. Volveremos ♥

Espectacular! Nos encantó todo, la comida y la atención fueron de maravilla. Fuimos en familia y nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Tienen productos de su propio huerto y de otros productores de la zona, se nota que cuidan mucho cada ingrediente, cada preparación, y eso se refleja en la calidad de cada plato. Es un restaurante con alma al que siempre vamos a querer volver. Totalmente recomendado, un 10 en todo!
